High temperature sealing tape
Universal plumbing joint tape ensures fast and reliable sealing. Ideal for taps and valves of stainless steel brewing pots, the universal sealing tape for hydraulic fittings is also used on stainless steel fermenters. Tested up to 160°C and pressures of 26 bar, the universal sealing tape on sale on Polsinelli Enologia is made of thermally stabilised synthetic fibre impregnated with a special non-hardening mastic. Practical and quick to use, it is effective on threaded hydraulic fittings of any diameter and material, both with common gas and with drinking and heating water, of which it does not alter in the least its smell, taste and purity. It also allows the repositioning of fittings and easy disassembly after years, and withstands the typical vibrations of joints in the vicinity of pumps. Instructions for use: Contact the green part of the universal sealing tape by exerting a slight tension and preferably starting from the end of the thread and working outwards (see drawing 1). In most cases it is not necessary to roughen the thread, except on particularly smooth materials such as brass or chrome plated fittings.
